The 'Biggest Couple Loser' Challenge

 

 

See the 92.3 WCOL website for pictures and updates on the 'Biggest Couple Loser' competition.  Baseline Fitness is doing all of the Fitness Testing and coaching.  The 5 couples are training with trainers at Lifetime Fitness. The winning couple will get a one year membership to Lifetime Fitness.

The contest is running from January 19th through February 20th.  Official weigh in's are on Tuesday mornings during 8:00 hour of the show.  We did beginning testing at Baseline, including VO2 testing.  With this, the couples now know what heart rate they individually need to maintain while exercising to burn the most fat. As we often see, most were surprised that they had to keep their heart rate much lower than they had thought.   We then provided them all with heart rate monitors to track it.  Eve Ann requested that the couples try to do cardio with the heart rate monitor everyday in addition to working out with their trainers at Lifetime Fitness.  We also talked about making the best food choices, drinking plenty of water and how eating more frequently will speed up the metabolism.

 

 

Final results by couple:

1st Place - Dan & Kelly Drake

Week one Kelly lost 1.5 lbs of body fat and her husband Dan lost 2.0 lbs of body fat for a combined total of 3.5 lbs the first week.  

Week two Kelly lost 6.3 lbs of body fat bringing her cumulative total to 7.8 lbs.  Her husband Dan lost 3.5 lbs of body fat bringing his cumulative total to 5.5 lbs.  Together they have a combined total of 5.4 lbs the second week and 14.2 lbs of fat lost so far.  

The third week Kelly lost 3.4 lbs of fat bringing her challenge total to 11.2 lbs of fat lost.  Her husband Dan lost 4.4 lbs of fat for a total of 9.9 lbs of fat lost.  Together they have a combined total of 7.8 lbs of fat this week and 21.1 lbs of fat lost.

2nd Place - August & Tamy Simpkins

Week one Tamy lost 3.1 lbs of body fat and her husband August lost 4.9 lbs for a total 8 lbs the first week. 

Week two Tamy lost .5 lbs of body fat bringing her cumulative total to 3.6 lbs.  Her husband August lost 2.1 lbs of body fat bringing his cumulative total to 7 lbs.  Together they have a combined total of  2.6 lbs the second week and 10.6 lbs of fat lost so far.  

The third week 3.5 Tamy lost  lbs of fat bringing her challenge total to 7.1 lbs of fat lost.  Her husband August lost .9 lbs of fat for a total of 7.9 lbs of fat lost.  Together they have a combined total of 4.4 lbs of fat this week and 15 lbs of fat lost for the first three weeks of the challenge.

Week one Irene lost 3.8 lbs of body fat and her husband Shawn lost 1.5 lbs for a total 5.3 lbs the first week. 

Week two Irene lost 4 lbs of body fat bringing her cumulative total to 7.8 lbs.  Her husband Shawn lost 1.8 lbs of body fat bringing his cumulative total to 3.3 lbs.  Together they have a combined total of 5.8 lbs the second week and 11.1 lbs of fat lost so far.  

The third week Irene lost .8 lbs of fat bringing her challenge total to 8.6 lbs of fat lost.  Her husband Shawn lost 1.1 lbs of fat for a total of 4.4 lbs of fat lost.  Together they have a combined total of 1.9 lbs of fat this week and 13 lbs of fat lost for the first three weeks of the challenge.

Week two Anna lost 3.2 lbs of body fat bringing her cumulative total to 3.5 lbs.  Her husband Mac lost .6 lbs of body fat bringing his cumulative total to 3.9 lbs.  Together they have a combined total of 3.8 lbs the second week and 7.4 lbs of fat lost so far.  

Third week Anna lost .9 lbs of fat bringing her new cumulative total to 4.4 lbs of fat lost.  Her husband Mac lost 4.9 lbs of fat for a total of 8.8 lbs of fat lost during the three weeks.  Together they have a combined total of 5.8 lbs of fat this week and 13.2 lbs of fat lost for the first three weeks of the challenge.
