World Fitness
Centers of Central Ohio has taken this program from the book to the
classroom and is now offering the popular
Body-for-Life (BFL) Program sponsored by
EASÒ
(Abbott/Ross Products) at a select number of our facilities. The
12-week program includes a 5-week, 1-hour, instructional lecture series
followed by 8 weeks of support and guidance from our expert instructors.
We are very excited about implementing this nationally recognized program
and making it available to our members and non-members alike1.
What is the BFL Program?
The
BFL
program is based on the fundamentals of proper nutrition and exercise
science, and is designed to reduce body fat, increase metabolism and muscle
tone, improve cardiovascular fitness, and the overall health and well-being
of the participant. In addition, participants may experience increased
energy, improvements in functional aspects of daily living, and a decrease
in the risk of developing diseases caused by obesity and/or a sedentary
lifestyle including diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers. The
BFL
program is not a fad diet or short-term solution. The 12-week program is
designed to provide a foundation for a lifetime of fitness, health and
weight management.
How does the program work?
Every 5 weeks thru May
of 2007, a new class series will implemented. The first weekly meeting
occurs at
Baseline Fitness in Worthington where a body composition (Bod PodÒ)
analysis is performed. The subsequent classes will meet at a designated BFL
World Fitness
Center. The course fee is $50.00 per participant. Participation
can be corporate, group or individual. During the classroom format, World
Gym BFL instructors using material provided by
BFL/EASÒ
will provide an overview of the various components of the program including
food choices and measurements, cardiovascular training, and the basic BFL
resistance exercise programs employing a variety of resistance training
equipment in World Fitness facilities.
Do I need to attend all the classes?
Yes. It is strongly encouraged to increase the
likelihood of long-term success. Attendance is mandatory for those enrolled
in the contest.
Do I have to pay again if I want to come back for
one or more of the lectures?
You may repeat any of the lectures if needed at no cost
as a refresher, or if you have questions regarding anything related to the
program, diet, supplements or training.
How does the local contest work?
World Fitness Centers of Ohio, Fall 2006
and Winter 2007 BFL
participants are eligible to participate in the contest. The rules are
basically the same as those used for the national BFL contests (12-week, pre-post
photos and essay) with the addition of a
Bod PodÒ
What is included in the program?
Each participant will
receive a Body-for-Life Journal and education materials, 20% off the
Bod PodÒ,
4 hours of classroom instruction with follow-up Q&A, and a BFL T-shirt upon
completion of the 12-week program.
