Our Own 'Pump and Run'

For those not familiar with the Pump and Run at the Arnold Fitness Weekend,
participants sign up to compete in a 5k run preceded with a bench press
challenge. Women bench 70% of body weight, men 100% with a 10% discount at
40 years and 20% less at 50 years of age. You have the opportunity to get
30 seconds off of your run time for each rep pressed, up to a max of 30
reps. This event has grown tremendously in popularity and has a limit of
600 participants. I had a group of 6 this year that wanted to give it a
shot, but unfortunately registration closed 2 1/2 months before the event this
year! We decided to do our own contest and see where we would have stacked
up. We did the official weigh in at Baseline, the Bench Press at World Gym
and the 5k was the Arnold 5k held right before the 'official' Pump and Run
5k. Everyone met their goals and had fun while we were at it!
